Practical tips

Wood is a valuable natural product. Unprotected, however, it is mercilessly exposed to weather conditions. The highly effective wood protection products from KORA® provide excellent protection for your wood from sun, rain and much more. In this way, it stays beautiful for a long time and keeps its value.

Here are practical tips for use:

  • The surface must be clean, dry and free of grease.
  • Planed wood should be sanded before processing (80s/120 grit) to remove high wood fibers and to achieve a uniform wood surface.
  • Before processing on a large scale, it is advisable to check the shade in an inconspicuous area.
  • We always recommend a test coat.
  • The intensity of the shades is influenced in particular by the surface composition, the type of wood, the application process and the moisture content of the wood.
  • Freshly painted outdoor wood should be protected from rain until the paint is completely dry.
  • The lighter the chosen shade and the more intense the weathering, the shorter the replenishment intervals.
  • A colorless coat of paint outdoors does not provide UV protection and is not sufficient as a single coat of paint.
  • Only regular maintenance protects your wood surface from sun, rain and greying and reduces the swelling and shrinkage of the wood.
  • Please follow the instructions in the technical data sheets and on the containers before processing.
